Stone Descriptions
Granite
Natural stone with a glass like surface that is incredibly durable, and highly stain, scratch and heat resistant. The first choice in countertop material.
Marble
Aesthetically versatile; consists of metamorphic rock and is offered in diverse colors and patterns for a sophisticated look.
Quartz
Engineered stone product made of real stone in combination with manmade products; extremely durable and virtually maintenance free.
Limestone
Consists of calcium carbonate, layered sediment and fossils; water resistant and available in matte and polished finishes, making it a great choice for bathrooms.
Tavertine
A variant of marble that is made up of iron compounds providing a striated and beige-colored appearance. Great for flooring or baths.
Soapstone
Primarily consists of talc, giving it a silky “soapy” feel; has a gray or green smooth matte finish.
Slate
A fine-grained homogeneous sedimentary rock; offers a durable, thermal resistant, and mildly rough surface; comes in a range of colors.
Onyx
A semi-precious stone with a milky, and translucent to transparent look; often with layers or bands of color. Beautiful as a bar top or bathroom vanity/shower with lights luminating through.
